I would guess leave blank (Null). The Nulls are dealt with in the calc using Nz() function.

Could you elaborate. Is it better to have nothing on the blank entries or is it better to have 0's?

    Respectfully,

=Nz([JobPrice1])+Nz([JobPrice2])+Nz([JobPrice3])+Nz([JobPrice4])+Nz([JobPrice5]) deals with Null in the fields. If you populate field with 0 then Nz() is not needed.

I don't normally default fields to 0. I handle the Nulls with Nz().

    You decide what you prefer.
