Can commented-out lines be ignored when searching VBA code?

    Hi everyone,

I often want to search VBA code for a particular string (typically a field name), but I get quite irritated when it finds matches within lines of code that are commented out.

Unless I'm missing something, I'm surprised that Microsoft haven't simply provided a tick box ("Ignore commented-out lines") that can optionally be set when specifying a search. But as they haven't, is there any way of getting Access to ignore commented-out lines of code when doing such searches?

no. Its a global search with no internal intelligence on comments.

OK thanks ranman256. I suspected as much, but it does seem strange that Microsoft couldn't have provided a simple facility to ignore commented-out lines of code.
