    Access on Website

    Hi All,
I know this has probably been answered a million times and kind of a general question but I cant seem to find exactly.

    If I create a database
(database would be for my shop and part of it would include where the customers job is in the work flow and level of completion)
can I somehow have the customer be able to interact with this info on my website?
If they could type in their name for instance and it come up what stage I am in as far as finishing their job.

I know this is vague and I have an idea your gonna tell me something about Sharepoint but I would appreciate advice on how difficult this is and where to start.

    Thank You
    Kevin

Another thought would be if instead of them querying the system...can you automate Access to shoot an email when you progress to next level in completion? Maybe this would be much simpler.

Sending an email shouldn't be difficult, you'd just need to identify when to do it. SendObject is the simplest method.

    Thanks Paul,
I was thinking I would have a form where I will update status of job...then press an "update" button to save the record and send the email to the customer.

Sounds good; have you looked at SendObject? There are other methods, but that's the simplest.

That would be the macro equivalent now. I'd use the VBA method, but that's me.
