Problem wth extra white space on right side of report after adding GROUPING

I am using Access 2010 ... and the moment I add grouping and sorting to a report, I get about 6 inches of EXCESS white space on the right side of the report. No matter what setting like AutoCenter, Fit to Page etc .. makes no difference.

I cannot get the excess space to go away. It happens in print preview as well ... with an area of GREY to the border of the screen. I can resize the report any way I like .. but it always is over sized with extra space on the right of the data.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting the reports in design view and dragged the right margin to the 8 1/2" mark?

The right margin is at 18 cm ... so about 7 inches. I had this problem before. I can copy / paste from an older report and it is fine .. but the moment I add any grouping, it seems to mess it up and I get the 6 or so inches of extra white space.

I have confirmed with one of the working reports .. that if I take a copy of it, and add a GROUP, the instant that any grouping is added, then the margin on the right side gets messed up.

The reports that work have AutoCenter = No, Auto Resize = No and Fit To Page = Yes. I am pretty sure there are other settings that are the issue though.

Here are a couple of screen shots of what I am referring to .. one that is fine (top) and one with the extra white space on the right (bottom). I had to zap most of the data for privacy reasons.

Are you using Tabbed Documents? Try Overlapping Windows.

Feeling a bit embarrassed .. and happy. That was so simple. Once I resized it in design view .. it is fine now.

    Thanks so much June7.
