How can I export to xml file with a predefined xsd file?

    Hello to everyone,

I am using Access 2003 at work (don't ask why!!) and have a problem with exporting to xml file. I have been given a xsd file as a schema for a required data set to give to another department. I import the xsd file to my database (as External Data) and about 10 tables are created. As I see it, I have to insert my records every time, create a query with the required fields and export them to xml file. However, I can't seem to understand how the epxorted xml file is supposed to obey to the structure of the xsd file. In the export process window, I go to More Options and see that the options only regard exporting to separate files (xml, xsd and xsl) and nothing about exporting to xml file using predefined xsd file.

The question is: How can I export to xml file with a predefined xsd file?

As far as I can tell, can't. Apparently, XSD is not used as an export template. Access will create XSD file as an option to the XML export. http://www.techrepublic.com/article/...ema-using-xml/

Not finding any template feature for export of XML. If you need the XML to have a specific structure, this can be managed programmatically by writing to a text file.

Now I'm disappointed because the content of the xsd file is vast. I might as try it programmatically. Thank you very much for your response.

    lios,

Can you post an example of what you have -- just 1 file xml, xsd, xsl? Perhaps if readers see what you have and what the output should be, there may be some options and suggestions.

I'm afraid I'm not allowed to post any file since it contains the business's information. Still, thank you very much for your contributions.
