Query by quater in different columns for respective field parameters

    Hi,
I am not that good in access. I need help. I need to create q1 q2 q3 q4 columns in a query and it calculates the count of those fields respectively. and does a grand total for a finacial year.

    eg:
    Market Veg Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 where Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 are quarters
    A carrot
    B potatoe
    spinach
    Count
    Total
I have done the quarters by using the expression Qtr: "Q" & Format([Enter Date],"q-yyyy"). But then it shows everyrthing in 1 column. I would like to have seperate columns and which it will show out in a report as well
    Thanks in advance

Sounds like you need to do a CROSSTAB query. Building a stable report to run perpetually based on a CROSSTAB is not easy. Review: http://allenbrowne.com/ser-67.html
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks so much. Crosstab query seemed to work. and the qtr expressionis same , just adding in q-yyyy in cross tab worked fine .
