Create multiple records with 1 form?

    Hi,
I donīt know if my question has already been answered, but iīm new to access and i donīt realy know how to search for my problem.

    Here is what I want.

I have to create a lot of new records in one table.
    client - year - account - amount

Each client has 10 different accounts, for each client always the same.

So what Iīm looking for is a way to speedup my data entry.

I was wondering if it is possible to create a form where I can fill in once the client and year, and then only the amounts, where the account numbers are fixed/prefilled.

So after filling the form there should be 10 records added.

I hope I made my self clear, and hope someone can help point me into the right way.

    Thanks, Erik

    Hi Erik,

Are you saying that you need to make 10 different account numbers for each client or that you just need to auto-populate the same amount for each client in each of their 10 accounts?

    Hi Dan,
I already was afraid I was not clear enough about how I things want.
    I try to explain again.

For each client I have to create 10 records. (Because there are 10 different accountnumbers)
Each record has the following fields:
    - clientnumber
    - year
    - accountnumber
    - amount
Those 10 records I have to create over and over again, as many as there are clients.
For each client the set of accountnumbers is the same.

So Iīm looking for an easy way for data input

Ideal would be something like this:

    Clientnumber:
    Year:
    Account1: Amount1
    Account2: Amount2
    Account3: Amount3

    Where I fill in: clientnumber-year-amount1-amount2-amount3-etc
Each time I save the form there should be 10 records created.

Hope this makes things more clearly.

Otherwise I could send You my database.

    Regards,
    Erik

    Hi Erik,

If you're saying that each client has 10 completely different account #s, e.g. John Smith, Acct: A123, A124, A125 etc. and you need to auto-fill that, it is possible but there just has to be a consistent logic Such as in the instance of John Smith, Acct #: A123, A124, A125 etc. This could be automated by just adding 1 ten different times for each client to make each account # unique for each client.

Is this what you're trying to do?

    Hi Dan,

    I attached my database.
Perhaps that make things more clear what I want.

The records are written in the table "data".

    Thanks,
    Erik
