Convert text to number in linked table to excel....

Hi,

I have a linked excel table in access 2010 all the fields come through from excel as strings, I have one field that I need to convert all the records from string / text number to an actual number.



How would I do this?

In a query you could use the appropriate conversion function: CCur, CLng, etc.

Thanks I assume I would use an update query?
Can you post an example the number is whole no decimal points.
