Multiple users keying into one form......

I created a database and I split the database so that I could put links to the database on multiple users desktops so that they could all key information into a form to be able to save to a table.

I am getting an error when 2 or more people try to access the form at the same time.

What do I need to do so that up to 20 users can be keying in to one form at the same time via a linked version of the database?

Does each user have their own copy of the front end, or are they all linking to the same copy? It should be the former:

    Yes,

I put the FE and the BE in a shared folder. From each PC I went into that folder and took a copy of the FE and placed in on there Desktop.

When both went into the database the one that went in after the first got the error stating that the form was already being used.

    Where did I go wrong?

If they are opening their own copy of the front end, there's no way they could get an error that someone else was using a form. Are you sure you made an actual copy and not a shortcut? Can you post a screen shot of the error?

That's not about the form, it's about the table. In Tools/Options (in the front end) check the setting on the Advanced tab for Default Open Mode. It should be Shared.

The Default open mode "Shared" was already selected as well as the " Open databases using record-level locking"

Do the users have read/write/edit permissions on the folder containing the backend?

yes they have permission to access the folder the back end is in ..

We both can work perfectly within the copy of the front end but just one at a time. There has to be something simple that I am not doing but I can not figure it out for the life of me.

when you said this to me it made me think. I remember a while back that I had selected to lock the records within the forms proper because I thought that would keep the users from being able to scroll through the records that were already keyed but it didnt work and I never went back to change that. So, I went back and changed that and now it works perfect. I knew it had to be something simple. THanks for sticking with me. Sorry for the confusion.
