Report with length of time calculated from two records in a table

I have a table that is full of records of individual inquiries. It is basically like a ticketing CMS for a call center. The table can have two inbound contacts from an inquirer, and then one outbound contact from us, etc. Each record also indicates the ID of the inquirer (related to the primary key of another table of people)

What I want to do is make a report that will show the average number of days between the first inbound contact to the first response by us.
The report will list the name of the person and the average time. If they inquire multiple times, and there are multiple responses, those should also be averaged.

Any thoughts on the best way to go about this?

in a query calc the elapsed time DATEDIFF("nn",[dateStart],[dateEnd])
(i hope your 'time' stamp has the entire date/time) 5/1/15 14:30

once you have the elapsed time then you can run another query to calc AVG([elapsed]) for whatever given timespan you want.

That is good infomation, but first I need to find a way to obtain the [dateStart] and [dateEnd], since they are in different records- and they don't have a time too, since they are manually selected, not autogenerated.... I hope that doesn't cause errors. How can I design a query that will get those from different records?
