Chart Help, Basic Question (first chart in access)

I have a very basic querie that I would like toturn into a chart on a report.
    Very basic sales data
    Sales – jan – feb – mar – apr – may - ect
    Brad - $1.00 - $1.50- $3.00- ect

I would like the chart to show the sales in a simple bargraph (super simple in excel) but for the first time chart user in access I canonly pick 6 points of data. How can I select a full rage (12 months) withdollars as the data and the month shown on the bottom of the graph that correspondswith that month. Hope this is not to confusing. any help will do!
    Thanks

    Brad

1st, I hope you are using the chart wizard, it makes things easier. The wizard will ask you what you want as rows, what as columns.

2nd, build a query with the data you need, the months, data, etc. , this is applied to the chart.
This query should be built accessing a form with the date range you need.
The query will read the date range from the form, and display in the chart. like: date between forms!frmRpts!txtStartDate and forms!frmRpts!txtEndDAte

ranman thank you for your help. I do have a query that I base the data off of and I am using the chart wizard but when I start adding the months to display for the data it only lets be put 6 (items) months in the wizard them I get a prompt "you can select up to 6 fields". that dosent help me I need a full range to select from over 24 months. im also a little confused why I need to build a form with the data range in it when I have that data in a query?
hope im not confusing you to much!

sorry, the form idea was for you to make variable months for your date range. Your query is fine if you want to hard code it using the query only.

As for the 6 month limit, you are still doing something wrong in the query. My charts have many, many months. Your X axis is still wrong.
