I have a table with a list of magazine issue numbers. I need to set up a calculated field in another table so that when I enter a "start issue" number from that table, and enter "5" (for example) as the number of issues, Access will add 5 numbers from that table, not simply add 5 to the issue number. (For example: I enter start issue number 212003. The next 4 issues are 212004, 212005, 213001, 213002. The end issue number is 213002, but if I calculate it to add 5, it will give me 212008.)

Why the jump from 212005 to 213001 - what rule dictates this?

Generating custom unique identifier is a common topic. Search forum. Here is one https://www.accessforums.net/access/...ers-21361.html

We have 5 issues per year which come out at set dates. The beginning of each issue number is the year (212=2012, 213=2013, and so on). The end is the issue number. So, if someone's subscription starts with issue # 212003, that means the 3rd issue for 2012 (June, in this case), and that means they get issues 3, 4, and 5 for 2012 and issues 1 and 2 for 2013, for a total of 5 issues.

Then will have to write code that complies with those rules. Did you review the referenced thread? Here is another https://www.accessforums.net/forms/a...ing-23329.html
