Please tell us about a typical day in your business, so we can understand WHAT your business requirement/opportunity is.
You may get some ideas from this tutorial which I recommend you work through, or from this free data model.

    Good luck.

great scheme but i need a simpler solution.

I will rephrase my requirement without use of any tech jargaon

I run a store in which we stock items for sale - not ordered against customer requirement
now - the sales staff make an entry manually in a diary which has 6 columns

    column 1 - date
    column 2 - item name
    column 3 - quantity
    column 4 - suppliers name
column 5 - given by supplier at the time of placing order
column 6 - status of order (ie ordered or not ordered)

    now - column 1 , 2, 3 are filled by sales staff
column 4,5,6 are filled by store manager (column 4 being most important to be filled by store manager)
5 and is not a mandatory column
6 is so that if the order was not placed - it would be placed at a later time

I wish this to be made in access - and probably have it on the company lan so that its , multi user along with - no requirement for installation on each systems.
    Please guide

    Report which should be generated
    1. Orders to be placed - after vendor has been assigned to items
    2. Items which do not have vendors assigned
    3. vendor wise report as to what all orders have been placed to them till date
    4. pending orders ie. items to which no vendors have been assigned

Start with a clear description of your requirements. Build a data model as per my previous post.

In addition to the info/links provided, here is a link to a set of free videos all related to Customers, Orders, Items and design concepts and techniques.

Good luck. Simple solutions are the result of detailed and thorough design.
