Setting columns to affect only details

I am trying to create a report with columns and I would like to know if it is possible to set up columns where my headings and groupings are not included in the columns.

This is an example of how I would like my report to look:
    --------------------------------------------
    REPORT TITLE
    --------------------------------------------
    GROUP 1
    --------------------------------------------
    X1 X2 X3 Y1 Y2 Y3

However here is how it is appearing:
    --------------------------------------------

    REPORT TITLE
    --------------------------------------------

    GROUP 1 X1 X2 X3 Y1 Y2 Y3
    --------------------------------------------

For the sake of ease let's assume where you have the word GROUP we will assume you have something like "THIS IS MY GROUP 1" and "THIS IS MY GROUP2", and your subgroups are X1 - Y3.

If you move the X1 - Y3 group headers to the THIS IS MY GROUP 1 header area they will only appear at the start of each new group. If you move them to the page header they will only show up at the beginning of each page.

You likely have at least 2 groups with headers showing you just have to move them all to the same header section.
