    Access 2013 Working Slowly

    Hello,
I would like to know if somebody met a similar issue:
I have recently started a new job where I have rather decent software and hardware - intel i7, 32GB ram, 64bit W8 & 64bit Office '13. Therefore I have no clue what is a source of my problem which is the fact that Ms Access works just extremely slow. For example running a simple select query on a table uploaded from 100K-rows-excel can take even 5minutes; what makes Access unusable. In the task manager I have noticed that Access never uses more than around 5% CPU and memory, it just hangs and calculates slowly. Other Office Tools like Excel are able to use the 100% and work effectively.
I have tried to follow some Access-accelerating solutions such as turning off the AutoCorrect, but nothing has worked so far and it is killing me that I used to have 20 times worse hardware&software and still it worked faster than now. I would really appreciate your suggestions!

I did install an 2007 Access. It is working smoothly so I decided to look further into the matter. After few tests I came to conclusion that the 2013 Access can also work fast (but still a little slower than v.2007), if I provide the Excel files that are suitable to the v.2007 - Excel Binary / Excel 2013 are killing the MsAccess.
That is not what I have expected; I thought that the Office Tools are developing together and using synergy. I guess the current policy is like developing PowerPivots for beginners and SQL Management Studio for professionals.
Anyway I am planning to check how will 2010 Access work; also using other type of sources.

    Hello,

I've been working with Access 2013 and found a 3x slow down from 2007. The processes where i've seen the most slow down are in the Visual basic code. I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it. Do you have any recommendations for me?
