    blank page

    Access Question.zip

I hope the Word Doc can be opened, but the gist is; I have a form that I use for JSA's. When I want to print one for a particular machine, I push a print button and only that record shows on a report. But when I look at print preview or print, there is a blank page before the actual report. How can I get rid of that?

My guess would be that the main part of the report (report detail section) has the "Keep Together" property set to "Yes". When the setting is "Yes", and the section is too big to fit on the current page, Access moves it to the next page. You might be able to decrease the top and bottom margins enough so that it will fit on the page.

In addition to, or instead of, the top and bottom margins, you may have to reduce the width of the Report! If a Report is too wide to be printed on a single page, it will also produce an empty page, like this!

Thank you so much for your reply, however, I did not have the "keep together" at yes, and the margins look good...I still just get the first page with the header and the second page is the header and the report....it baffling me....

Does the report detail section have a rectangular border, or is there a tall report control? (check can grow / can shrink properties)

Do you have a page break control somewhere in the design?

What are the setting for the "Force New Page" property of the Report Header (if you have one) and the Detail Sections of the report?

Looking at your MS Word example, I think this is almost certainly a sizing issue. What you could do is make a copy of the report (so you don't have to do it all again!), then remove all but a few of the controls in the Detail section, and see if it prints properly. If it does, then you know its sizing.
