    Invoice/Customer Database

Hi, I have a Customer Details table with a form to enter data. Also have a Form with Invoice Details on a separate table and form.

What would be the best option to have the Invoice use the data from the customers table but once an invoice is created it can be shown on the customers table.

    Don't want duplicates either.

    OR

Have a New Customers Input sheet where I enter a new customer details and save.

I then go to the New Invoice/Customers table and type a persons name and all details pop up but not duplicated. I then see all previous Invoices and can
create a new invoice for printing.

    Help would be appreciated.

Tell us about your database structure --tables and relationships.

This tutorial is excellent for learning database design concepts.

All I have at present is Two tables one with CustomerID, CustomerName, CustomerAddress, CustomerTown, Email, Telephone, Hourly Rate, Frequency(Weekly, Monthly etc), Time allowed.
Invoice table contains CustomerID, CustomerName, CustomerAddress, CustomerTown, Invoice number, Invoice Details, Invoice Amount,

I think I need to make a relationship between CustomerID.

Work through the tutorial I mentioned, I'm sure it will help. Pay attention to his description/narrative of the problem.
Also, review his points on Normalization. You may wish to research Normalization by using Google to find references and samples.

See the links to videos here.
    Good luck.

Don't understand the question. Why would Invoice details show on Customer table?

As orange stated, need to know more about your data structure. You mention Invoice Details table - is there an Invoices table?

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
