    Compacting When Closing?

    Hey!

Does anyone know how to either shorten the time of compacting when you close an access application or remove it all together?

    Thanks,
    Sean

The time required depends on how much work needs to be accomplished. It is called Compact and Repair for a reason. Tools>Options...>General Tab is where there is a checkbox to turn it on/off.

    Thanks!

Are there any disadvantages of disabling this? What does it exactly do?

    Thanks,
    Sean
