    Exporting & Importing Data

I have a re-order form which lists all products for each supplier & has a 're-order' quantity field. Each user can then go in & enter quantities against specific products, at regular intervals an order is then placed. From this I export the Product ID & Quantity to an Excel spreadsheet (works fine) & re-order quantities reset to zero (still got to do that part).

The problem is getting the exported data imported into the 'order form'. The main order form has the order ID & supplier, I then have a subform which is to list all the products that need to be ordered. The order form & subform are linked by the 'order ID', this is what is causing the problem for importing.

Any ideas how I can import the product ID & quantity into my subform (without having to go into the spreadsheet & adding the Order ID).

You haven't given readers much context to offer answers/suggestions.

Is this a web application? Do you have a database in Access? Do you have a data model?
You seem to have a mixture of Access and Excel, but I'm only guessing based on your post.
Is this an Inventory Control system with automatic reOrder points?
Can you give us a general description of your set up to help put the post info into context?

It's a database in access (only using Excel to export/import data). Quantities on a 're-order' form are added as & when, then an order is placed say once every month. We only want to order the items that have a quantity greater than zero (this is done with a query). I would like to export the items for re-ordering into the orders form. I thought the easiest way would be exporting the re-order data to Excel & then importing into orders - because the 'orders' subform is linked to 'order ID' it won't let me import the data.
