Hi,
I have a button which runs a list of queries that take roughly 10 seconds to run, when another user clicks the button while the other one is running it gives an error message 3405, File already in use. Can someone help me fix this thanks.

Is this a split db? Is each user running their own copy of frontend?

yes its split, each user is running there own copy.
The backend is Access? The only thing I can think of would be record locking in Client Settings of Access Options in the backend.

The thing is there is no record locking, is access bulit to allow multiple users to read/write to the same table at the same time?
Yes, I have no issues with this in my split db.
Record locking is the only thing I can think of. It can cause entire table to lock.

what i can think of is it is writing data to table and the table have distinct rows.
when in a form, where record is entered one at a time, it is fine. but when you push 2 dataset into a table from two different source at the same time how would access validate one from the other?
Good point qa - what is happening when this 'list of queries' runs - are records being modified?

No records are being modified, just getting a dcount for stats, I read somewhere that eventhough the backend is in shared mode, its still opening as exclusive.
I don't understand that. I have multiple user accessing backend without issue.
But why are you using a domain aggregate function instead of aggregate query? Why are you 'running' query - why not open form or report?
