    Locking and graying out fields in Access

    I would like to do some conditional formatting in some fields on a form. I would like to gray out and lock fields if they = 0.

    Can you please tell me what the steps are?

    Use Conditional Formatting. Form in design view, select data control, click Conditional Formatting on the ribbon Format tab.

    You don't want user to be able to edit data?
    How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

    No, I don't want the viewer to edit the data...I ended up using code and it worked

    If Me.Approximate_Pool_Size = "0" Then
    Me.Approximate_Pool_Size.Visible = False
    Else
    Me.Approximate_Pool_Size.Visible = True

    How do you want to handle null fields? Access evaluates null fields differently than 0 fields
