Saving unbound Attachment form field to table attachment field

Again, I apologize if this question has already been asked (couldn't find it).

I have a form with unbound fields, that I use to populate an Access 2007 record. I have added the Attachment field to the table, and an Attachment control to the form. NOW, I want to be able to update the table record with the value in the form field.

I just discovered the Attachment field capability, today, so obviously it is new to me. And I KNOW it would solve my issues (with Access, anyway ). Could someone help me out, or point me in the direction of the answer? I am using a SQL UPDATE statement to update the table record.

    Thanks!

Why are you using unbound form and unbound controls?

Embedding lots of large files in attachment field can quickly use up Access file size limit of 2GB.

What are the issues you are faced with?

Programmatically embedding files in attachment field requires code that manipulates a recordset object. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ffice.12).aspx

I just KNEW someone was going to ask me that!

I am using data from several tables, to populate comboboxes and other fields on the form. And, then saving the selections in the main table. Also, I have not had success with ending the process, and NOT saving the data to the table, automatically. I only want the data to be saved, when the "Save" button is clicked.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
