Post How to update tables from bound and unbound fields from forms

    Hello,

I am new to Access and get stuck in forms bound and unbound controls.

I have three forms viz. FrmBasicDetails, FrmMainDetails, FrmMinordetails.

In FrmBasicDetails I have two fields Name of the Company and Acitivty. I have 10 categories to choose from combo box. And based on categories selected by user FrmMainDetails or FrmMinorDetails will pop up.

In FrmMinorDetails I have three unbound text boxes whose control source is from FrmBasicDetails. The reason I have text box instead of combo box is so that user can not change the value. Below these text boxes are some bound fields from table. Once I click on save button Access is saving data only from bound fields and not from unbound fields.

Could you please help me what I am missing or what i need to do further so that the data from text boxes will also be saved in my table.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Gaurav

If the fields are unbound, of course the values will not be saved. Why not simply bind them?

Agree with Burrina on this, however, if you insist on using unbound forms, then look at this tutorial.

Why do you want to save the related data? Sounds like duplication of data.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
