Can't make a table from a table with multi-value fields

I have a table that I need to use for historical purposes; I will eventually have 4 historical tables. When I am finished with the table for this school year I want to copy it to another name; for example: the table minutes will become minutes hist1. I know I can do a copy and rename. But, what I am hoping for is a way to copy the table, or make a new table. When I tried to make a table I got a message saying that the SELECT cannot have multi-value fields. I also tried to do an update and got the same message. I hoping there is a way to do this without programming (since I am just learning VBA for Access).

Ugh - multi-value fields. No, I think you will need programming to replicate the record. http://www.know-access.com/view/2080...lue-field.html

I know this thread is marked as solved, but I found a solution to this issue. Export the table to Excel then import into the desired table. The only thing it can't handle is a LIST BOX. It copied my COMBO BOXES just fine. After exporting the table I deleted the LIST BOX column and imported the file. It gave me all I needed for historical purposes.

How often do you do this process?

Guess that won't be too burdensome and not worth building automation code.

What was the result of the multi-value field export/import? Did it come back as a multi-value field?

Yes it did, with the recorded values as stored. BTW: I've been meaning to ask this, but why doesn't "Remember Me" work at login, if you know? I keep checking the box but it always forgets me, I'm getting a complex.

Thanks, learned something new about export/import.

Must be something about your browser. Not sure what "Remember Me" does - save a cookie somewhere on your computer?

    Bing: web browser remember me
