Images in Continuous Heading keep refreshing when scrolling down

Hey everyone, I'm having issues with a continuous form header, seen below.

I'm trying to have a multivalue selector for one field of the query powering the continuous form, but check-boxes are tiny so i thought i would use images instead.
The images are powered by paths, when clicked it changes the textbox value from null to the label name and vice versa, the image uses a IIF statement from
its corresponding textbox below to select between the 2 images( The green check box and the Red X box). I use the textboxes to feed into the query.
The problem i'm running into is that every time you scroll down, it RELOADS the images in the header and it takes about 3 seconds to do so,
which makes navigating damn near impossible. Any idea's how to get around this? Or maybe a different method to achive my same goal?

    Thanks guys.

Does 'powered by paths' mean the images are external files? Maybe embed the images on form instead of link to external files?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Embedding them was a good idea, I embed them, then referenced the embed ones, along with reducing them to a smaller size (the orignial images were 5kx5k pixels, which is gigantic) solved the loading issue. Thanks June.
