Can someone give me some direction on how to start a bracketing database for a sports team. I can gather and sort the data but I am lost on how to generate the brackets automatically.

No idea. Sounds complicated. What is the logic for assigning brackets? If you can describe the process (algorithm), it can be programmed.
I know there are OTS packages and on-line services (Eteamz.com maybe one).
