Accessing backend when conversted from Access 2003 to 2007

Currently use Access 2003 where I can get access the backend from an icon on the menu bar. When converted to 2007, can't seem to access the backend. Do I really need to split the database in order to do this. I would prefer not to.

If database is not split there is no need for 'linking' because then there is not a backend. Use Import/Export wizard to set up links.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
