change data type for multiple fields

Hi, I am a very fresh noob to Access, and please excuse my knowledge

I imported a big table from excel with many columns. Access when I brought it in determined that they should be "text" format. I don't want to sit and change each field to a "number-double". Is there a way to quickly change data type for multiple fields at once?

    Thank you

One approach would be to have two tables. One table would be for the original import and its fields would be text. Another table would be used for an append process. The second, append, table would be the correct data types.
