Drop Down Box changes entire column

    Hello,

I'm building a access form and currently I have a option for a dropdown box and I just want it to change the cell that is selected. Currently it changes the entire column. How can I change this issue?

Haven't looked at the sample, but more than likely the combo doesn't have a control source set. It needs one to be able to associate it with the record on the form.

    Thumbs up

    Hi Mike,

Yep. That's what it is. You have a "Comment" column on your form that contains the combo box control. That control, just like the other text box controls in the detail section, needs to be bound to a field in the Record Source. If you look at the properties for that combo box, the first thing under the "Data" tab is Control Source. Click on the drop down list for that property and select the field that the comment should be stored in. That should do it!

    Hey Mike,

Glad to help. You know how to thank me is by clicking on the little sheriff badge in the lower left corner of my post. We don't do this for money; we do it for "reputation points". Your click just might be the one that gets me a second green box under my name. Woohoo!

    Much appreciated,
    Marvin M
