When I create a new table it doesn't appear until I close database or comp & repair

    Hi,

When I create a new table or query, they don't appear until I either close and re open the database or compact & repair it. I am using Access (2007 - 2010).

Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated.

    Paul

The table is there. The Nav Pane depends on Hidden System tables to display Objects like forms, tables, queries, etc. Try changing the sort order, or view in the nav pane to refresh.

I've played toggled with the sort order & view in settings on the Nav Pane. Hasn't helped.

Still need to either (i) exit and re open, (ii) compact & repair or (ii) press F5 before any new table or query will appear

I have not experienced this before. If you are creating the object programmatically, does it matter whether or not you can see the object in the Nav Pane right away? In other words, can you add records to the new table programmatically and retrieve records programmatically?

I have seen something like this in 2000 2003. If you create a new table, and move to a query, then back to Tables does it appear then.

There is a command that would refresh things. Not sure if it's in 2010.
    Application.RefreshDataBaseWindow
