Linking Autonumbers together?

Can I link multiple tables together by Autonumber? I'm trying to make a database without making a giant blob of a table. I want to be able to cascade delete as well, so if I pick a record from my asset table and it gets retired or removed I want all the information with it except for contact information to be deleted. I have a Asset Table, Location Table, and Network information table. I guess I'm just having a rough time grasping this relationship thing? Thanks for those that help!

No, linking is not done between autonumber fields. An autonumber field can be the primary key of a table and then a corresponding field in a related table would be a number type field and the primary key will be saved as a foreign key in the number field. These two fields are the link between tables.

Primary key fields do not have to be autonumber.

The primary keys for Asset and Location tables can be autonumber.

Number (long integer) type fields in Network table will receive the PK values as foreign keys.
