Report side by side comparing category

    My query looks like this.

    date category unit
    7/1/2013 1 60
    8/1/2013 1 40
    9/1/2013 1 80
    10/1/2013 1 60
    11/1/2013 1 90
    12/1/2013 1 60
    7/1/2013 2 20
    8/1/2013 2 30
    9/1/2013 2 40
    10/1/2013 2 50
    11/1/2013 2 40
    12/1/2013 2 40

and I want to make the report look like this
    7/1/2013 category 1 unit category 2 unit
    8/1/2013
    9/1/2013
    10/1/2013
    11/1/2013
    12/1/2013

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank You

On second look at your desired output, the multiple values CROSSTAB is not what you want.

A normal CROSSTAB would result in:
    Date 1 2
    7/1/2013 60 20
    8/1/2013 40 30
    9/1/2013 80 40
    10/1/2013 60 50
    11/1/2013 90 40
    12/1/2013 60 40

How many categories are there - just 1 and 2?

    date category 1 category 2
    7/1 unit1 unit2 unit3 unit4 unit1 unit2 unit3 unit4
    8/1
    9/1
    10/1

I don't understand. The data under Unit are identifiers, not quantity? The Unit field shows 7 different values, not 4.
