    generating reports into the foreground

I am on my main form.

I click on a button that opens a dialog form where I set a parameter. I click on OK and a report is generated. (All good so far.)

The report is generated in the background. I have to go fishing for it. How do I activate this window (the report), or set the focus on it, or whatever is required so that it's in the foreground after generation?

You've told Access you want the form in front by using Dialog. You might try either closing it or making it not visible prior to opening the report.

Thank you, your analysis helped me to see. My macro proceeded: OpenReport and then CloseWindow (the window of the form). Hence, I worked with the dialog form after the report was opened. Why that means the report needed to be behind the main form is another question. Regardless, I solved it by adding a third action to the macro: SelectObject, Object Type (Report), Object Name (the name of my report), In Database Window (No).

I tested this in both Overlapping Windows and tabbed documents and it was successful.
