    Building a survey database

I am trying to build a survey in access but I'm hitting a roadblock. In part of the survey, participants go through a list of classes and indicate whether it should stay or be removed and whether it should be shortened or lengthened (Retain Class, Remove Class, Expand Length, Reduce Length) so I can't go with an average like I am in other parts of the survey where I am looking for quality. There are 20 classes on the list so I'm trying not to go with 20 separate queries (or sub reports). Add on the fact that I'm trying to build comparisons between groups, so it is counting how many times four different answers appear for each class. Right now I have a report with 80 text blocks, each running a different DCount, which works for the overall but doesn't give me group by group stats. Any help would be appreciated. I will try to load a sample of it for someone to take a look at if it helps.

Sounds like you need to build report using Grouping & Sorting features with aggregate calcs in group footer.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
