    Fuzzy lookup on field?

Can someone point me in the right direction, I don't use access enough to be an expert!
I have a form to maintain student records in access 2007. Key field is a/n (AND001), then surname (ANDERSON), and then other items of data which are regularly updated. The table has hundreds of records, and I don't want to go to a datasheet type view, as the user may still have to scroll through many pages to find a student. I'm looking for the most elegant method for them to be able to enter "AND" somewhere, and have the nearest match (AND001) found, or even a popup list of records in close proximity.
