    Access 2010 Database Update

    Hey guys,

I'm a new IT associate where I work at and I have only started to dabble with access a little bit. I had a user submit a ticket for the following:

"I cannot open the Access database used to create and record information. The program asks me to update the database to the latest Access version. In the past, I was told not to complete this update or the database will be locked."

    Any ideas? Thanks

What Access version is the user running? What version is the file (mdb or accdb)? User previously able to open db in spite of message or did not previously get the message? What has changed?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I have a question for you as well. Is the database on the user's station? is Access installed on the user's station?

Sounds like the database was created using an older version of Access, probably 2003. If that is the case depending on what version of access you have installed on their machine (probably Access 2010) you may have to save the database as the new format. Maybe this will help. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...010341530.aspx
