Exclamation link all tables by special number will info auto-populate?

    Hi, good morning!

I have a few questions about tables and forms joining, and auto-population of data.

If I join all 8 of my tables one to one to one to one to one, is that possible? That is my first question.

Secondly: If I have my RSN number that I'm using to track each record, is it possible that if I type in the number on a different form, and two of the fields are similar on every form that they will auto populate since the tables are joined? and if they're filled out in one form, they should know that these were the fields we said were attached to this number it'll just appear? Is that a real thing?

Someone please advise!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I joined all my tables by the RSN number (which is also the primary key) I used the one to many, method. the commitee table is the king and it has joins from itself to each of the other tables. shouldn't the matching field DATA auto-populate? Like if i have the branch name field filled out for record number 12 in the committee table and it says bloomfield, shouldn't by the relationship of the two tables, the branch name also say bloomfield in the construction table under branch name?? please advise!!

The *only* mechanism in Access to "autopopulate" a linked table with a ForeignKey value is the Form/SubForm arrangement. The rest you have to do yourself.

I don't get what that means. I'm sorry, could you explain that a little more basically?

Tables are related by placing one table's PrimaryKey in a field in another table. We call that 2nd table's field a ForeignKey field. Essentially there is NO feature in Access to fill in the ForeignKey field automatically save one, the Form/SubForm arrangement. Does that help?
