    Filter listbox, using combo boxes

    Hi all,

I am very new to Access... I am trying to use Combo boxes to filter out a listbox. I have attached my database. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hey Dale,

I am looking to filter listbox "SearchReults" by the combo boxes at the top. I would ideally like the search results list box to update immediately after clicking the selection. Is this possible?

    Thanks for your help!

Which selection? From what combo box? Or from the Search For text box?

    The Selection is: SearchResults
The Combo Box is: Either Custodian/Database/Etc.. (If you show me one, I can probably handle the rest)
Search Text box is functional thanks to another friendly poster on this website.

    Thanks!

BTW, all of this is on frm_SearchResults (or something like that...I'm on a Mac and can't open up my database!)

Yes! The Custodian one works perfectly. However when I try to add a new filter (Analyst) it does not seem to work. Other than editing the qry_SearchAll Criteria, are you changing the code anywhere else?

    Thanks,

The only thing I changed was your query.

You will notice in your data that you are searching that not all searches will give you an answer.

You have only 2 choices for BD.

If the choice you are asking for is not in the data it will not show a result.

    Does this make sense.
No Data in one selection = no result if multi selections.
