    Query top 3 fields of 20 fields not top records


    Each record has 22 fields, part #, sort date, and then 20 different defects. I want a query to pick the 3 fields with the highest values out of the 20 defect fields. Everything I have found gives you top records, I want top fields.

    That's because in database design, those defects should almost certainly be records in a related table, not fields. The concept is called normalization:
