Forcing Detail formatting into 2nd of two column report

Given a report defined with two columns, AND detecting in the On_Detail_Format code a change in one of the record fields, force formatting into the second column? Or, does one have to have a single column report with an expandable sub-report laid into what would otherwise have been the second column as described above?

    Thanks,
    Bill

I'm taking the approach of using a sub-report in the area that would otherwise be the 2nd column.

Try report grouping on that field and set for page break.

Are you referring to the use of grouping with a 2-column report? I have another post where I'm having problems setting the Filter in Open code. Is Grouping on a 2-column a better approach in your view?

I've never tried but read an article that suggested it.

Here is a discussion that seems relevant http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...f-fdf463c7a994

Also wonder if the NewRowOrCol property of group header is relevant.
