Need to strip first 8 digits from a tracking code on look-up

I took access in college and then didn't use it for the next 6 years. Now I am getting antiquated with it all over again and cannot figure out how to strip out a basic sequence of numbers.

The project is to look up and verify a tracking number in a table. My look-up function in the form I created works fine, but the issue is that the printed bar-code from the shipper that I will be scanning in includes these exact irrelevant numbers 42098052. Example: 420980529400110200882714819238. It should read only "9400110200882714819238" at the time of look-up to match the original tracking number that was imported from the shipper's database.

I thought this would be easiest with a macro, but nothing I have written seems to work.

Is there a way to strip either the first 8 digits or the exact number string?

    Thanks!

You can use the Mid() function for 8 digits or the Replace() function for the exact string.
