Relinking All Tables to a New Location Conundrum

The title almost says it all. I've done this hundreds of times, both with this particular database and many others, but the Linked Table Manager sometimes "asks" me the new location for each table (53 in this case). Other times it does all 53 in one fell swoop.

Without going into too much detail, is there a cause or a cure for this?

Do you check the 'Always prompt for new location' box?

Yes the box has been checked. It's a sporadic problem I have found a way around (using code).

I have experienced this as well. It seems to relate to whether all of the tables checked off were linked to the same source or not. If they weren't (even as insignificant as 1 table), then it prompts for all of them. I wound up using VBA to relink my tables, it saved so many headaches.

That could well be the problem since about a dozen tables are linked to a SQL db. It puzzled me that sometimes it worked fine. I'll keep an eye on that going forward.
