Creating a repair history for inventory items

I am attempting to create a database to track multiple items spread through multiple departments at multiple locations, and I need to figure out a way to document repair history for each item, ideally this information would be found by clicking on the item out of a table or query. Any suggestions of how to do this, or guidance to a guide that explains how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Need a table for records of repair events. The table would have fields for itemID, date, repair code, comments.
