Hi!
This is my second db I've done in Access so I'm not so good at it yet. The thing is that I did something (probably easy) in my first db that I cannot re-do in my second. I have tried and tried but I'm stuck now.
This is simplified what I have and what I want to do...
Two tables, tblList and tblPlace.
TblList contains a list of books in our library with columns like ID, Name, Author and Place.
TblPlace contains a list of rooms with the columns ID and Room.
What I want is to, in a form, chose room from a drop down, hit a search button and view the results in a sub form. Quite simple and I have done this but now I can't do this again...
I use the design view in tblList to create the column Place using the wizard. Here I chose that I want to get the values from another table. I chose tblPlace and so on.
In the form I create a drop down (qPlace) using the wizard, chose to get the values from tblPlace and finish.
When I click the search button I run a query (qrySearch) and in the arguments I write
Like [Forms]![frmRegister].[qPlace] & "*"
I think this is what I did when I created my last db but this won't work. What happens is that when I chose a room from the list, nothing appears. The search function works because I can type in names and authors filter that way.
I must have missed something but I can't see what it is.
I'm greatful for any help!
