Navigation Menu and Search Form error

    Hi there,
I have a form that is for a multi-search text box.
It works perfectly as it is, but as soon as I put it in a navigation tab, I get the following message:
    Enter parameter value:
    Forms!FRM_SearchMulti!SrchText

I've checked the query it's based on and it looks absolutely fine. I've tried many times to redo the Nav menu, but I always strike the same problem.
    Any thoughts?

what do you mean by a 'navigaton tab' in Access 2010 ??

perhaps you are moving into a subform such that its object name should be something like:
    Forms!MainFormName.FRM_SearchMulti.Form!SrchText

this is the syntax for calling a control in a subform....

Hi there, thanks for your reply.

I'm using navigation tabs to order my database (see the Create tab in Access 2010, from there you can create Navigation Tabs).
This error appears for my query too now ( the one that my search form is based on), now that I look closely. So I'm guessing this is the problem, not the navigation tabs. But as I said I've searched the query for the problem and I can't see anything out of the ordinary.

this sort of error message has happened for another form, my main form, and I honestly can't work out where they come from, all my queries etc seem clean.
Here's what my query looks like for my search form:

Are you using a Tab Control or a Navigation Form?

I'm using a navigation form. I'm finding it to be a little awkward to work with.
I do think its my query that's wrong though, but I can't work out where or why. What do you think?

Yes, I don't like the Navigation form, just as I never liked the Switchboard wizard. Have reviewed a number of threads regarding Navigation form reference issues. Here's one https://www.accessforums.net/forms/t...orm-32053.html
