    Cool Access database online

    Hi there!

I have an Access database with front end (user interface) and back end (data).
This works fine on a local net (server). My question is if it is possible to leave the backend on a DMZ server (internet server) so my users can connect to the database over the Internet.

Cheers, and have a nice weekend everyone

    Tomas

    Hi
Thank you for replying. No browser or RMD or VPN. I just thought it would be possible to install the front end on the users client, and access the back end database over the Internet with access password. I don't know what logmein or gotmypc is

Well with access 2010 I believe it's possible to create a 'web' database and publish your forms/GUI as web pages as well which would let anyone access it. If you're talking about allowing them access as though they were on your network I don't know of a way to do that that wouldn't be extremely prone to attack/hacking. When your users are logging into their remote machines they are not really logging into your network (from the sound of it) the PC's just have their own security.
