How to Freeze a Column using VBA in Design View

When my application opens, I open selected datasheet forms in design view and reset the column order, width, and hidden/unhidden properties on selected controls and save the form. All this works fine. However, I would also like to reset the "frozen" columns as well. I'm setting the focus on the control in question using ctl.SetFocus, then I run Docmd.RunCommand acCmdFreezeColumn. This isn't working and I think it might be that I can't set the focus in this manner in design view. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

SetFocus is not relevant in DesignView nor is FreezeField. Why want to do this in design view? If user has the right click shortcut menu available they can change these settings anyway.
