    Unable to add new images

I've got a simple access 2007 database that I've created for tracking pieces of equipment, the database was initially created with a windows xp computer that I no longer have and is now being used with a windows 7 (64 bit) pc/32 bit access/office.

I am able to view and edit all aspects of the database other than adding new photos in the OLE object field. I can still view all of the previously added photos just fine but now when I try to add a 259 x 194 pixel .bmp image, I get the following error:

The operation on the OLE object failed.
The OLE server may not be registered.
To register the OLE server, reinstall it.

I'm not sure if there is a way to reinstall paint in windows 7, it doesn't appear so. But I cannot understand why reinstalling would make a difference if it's opening the pre-existing .bmp files successfully.

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
