    Subdata report

I have a report that I need to show hardware and software. I have created the subdata reports but it is showing 1 entry for each piece of software. How do i get it to show it all in a list?

If you want the report to show equipment and software by user then Master/Child links should be the username, not S/N. Need the [User Name] field in the Hardware subform RecordSource.

The main report RecordSource should not have the Hardware and Software tables included, just the [User - Head Office] table.

Then group on the [User_Name] field from [User - Head Office] table.

Why track software by user instead of by the computers it is installed on?

How do I change the Master/Child to the username?
Also, when I change the Hardware subform RecordSource I get the following error
"The record source '[User Name]" specified on this form or report does not exist.

Double click the ellipses (...) next to the Master/Child links property of the subform container control.

Change the field that the textbox on main form is bound to from [User Name] to [User_Name].

What do you mean by 2 records for each?

With the edits I described, the report works properly for me. Some individuals had one hardware and some had two.

I am not sure what you mean by "Need the [User Name] field in the Hardware subform RecordSource." How do I get to this record source?

RecordSource is a form property. It is on the Data tab of the Property Sheet. It is what defines the data source for a bound form.
