    Broken reference

Having just updtaed from XP to Win7, my Access 2003 application is now giving an error message on startup, broken reference to file PALMCNTRL.Ocx Ver 1.0. I remember when building the app that I had tried the Palm calendar OCX and discarded it in favour of the MSCAL.ocx.

I have searched the form where it would be used, including the VB code and the documentor and cannot find a reference to it. Is there any other way of finding this?

Thanks for any help on this,

    Bill

Try *importing* this application into a fresh new db and see if the issue follows.

The same error message occurs during 'importation' and it stops at a particular form. Does that indicate that the reference is in that particular form?

Probably. Try importing all *but* that particular form and see if it completes. That would confirm your suspicions and let you zero in on the problem.

I have resolved the issue. I opened the form that the Import stopped at then chose view code from the View Menu. Then I chose References from the Tools Menu and unchecked the reference to the OCX control that is no longer used. All is well now.

    Thanks for all your help,
    Bill
